The Concept of Liberty, and Constitutional Adherence:

December 6, 2018

When it comes to Liberty, what is Liberty?
Liberty is the state of being Free.

Where does this Liberty come from?
Liberty comes from nature. It is natural to be free. It is unnatural to be a subject or slave.
If you take away government, and take all laws off the books, you are then free to live your life however you choose. This single fact alone, is proof that our rights are natural and do not come from government.

Now, I am not advocating for no laws and no government at all in saying this, I am only making a point as to where our liberties come from.

Now when it does come to laws and government, our Founding Fathers envisioned a nation that would PROTECT these natural rights. The role of our Constitutional Government, is the common defense of the union, justice and general welfare of the people. What they mean by general welfare, is the ability to live peaceful and free lives. Any government act or law that imposes on our natural right to defend ourselves, or our right to live our lives as we see fit, is a direct violation of our natural rights. Laws should only be in place to establish justice if someone else is to harm you, not to protect you from yourself.

This is why I stand firm as a Constitutionalist.

Government is a necessary evil, however, this evil needs to be contained within very tight rules against itself, and We The People need to hold this evil accountable.

Only when our government adheres to our Constitution, will we live as free men and free women.
