BearingArms.com is reporting the White House is "quietly" reaching out to 2A organizations and high-level supporters to inform them, Trump has changed his position on Red Flag bills or changes to the current background check laws.
This is from an anonymous source who spoke to Bearing Arms, "the White House is instead looking to focus efforts on mental health, and is “looking at something along the lines of Cornyn’s bill”, a reference to Sen. John Cornyn’s RESPONSE Act unveiled this week. The source was careful to point out, however, that the White House has not endorsed the Cornyn proposal, and may not be on board with all of the provisions."
After the impeachment effort began, the gun control discussion between Congress and the white house was put on the back burner. Some speculate the gun control discuss stopped because of Beto's call for confiscation of all so-called "assault weapons."
